There is that moment when you are so darn bored that you're watching "Tales From The Crypt" while you sew and try to work out a new pattern in your head. XD

I have hit that point.

This could be really good or really bad.

So, I've been doing a lot of sewing lately, and it looks good enough where I'm going to start selling some of the things I make.  It's relaxing and a lot of fun to me....I confess, in second and third grade I secretly wanted to do clothing design. I drew up some weird outfits, too.

However, not everything I sketched up was weird as....yeah. Some of my old outfit designs weren't half bad. Especially the jackets and dresses. So, now that I know how to create my own patterns, I'm making some based on my old ideas and outfits I drew up for characters.

I went in to JoAnn Fabric today. They were having an amazing sale. Needless to say, I've got fabric now for some of the things I wanted to make. Even better, some of these outfits will be sold to make money for other stuff I want and/or need to do.

Lots of photos incoming just as soon as I get these done. Also, pics coming up soon of the outfits I've been making for a friend.

I seriously am today, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the postal carrier. My tracking information shows that my beautiful fabric I've been wanting to work with since I ordered it over a week ago is arriving today. *happy dance*

I've been doing a lot of sewing lately, and enjoying it to boot. After taking a lovely wander yesterday, I've even got some fun new ideas that I want to work on.

And if I'm going to be making beautiful fun kimonos for dolls....why not doing it with truly genuine Japanese fabrics? My grandmother got me two of the most gorgeous fat quarters I've seen, from a shop she traveled to. She also got me a beautiful business card to look into the sites for other pieces.

My oh my, the gorgeous fabrics I found on the Etsy shop.....superb patterns and designs, and genuine Japanese fabric. Sweet! Also, affordably priced. Another big point of awesome to me. I can make some of these things to sell and not have to do a crazy markup for the cost of said gorgeous fabrics.

There are some beautiful fall colored fabrics arriving- but first, I'm using some of the fabric from my grandmother to make my new idea for Ely. I wanted to do a cross between modern and traditional, and figured out a really fun way to do that, I think.

We shall see when I am done sewing, right?

So, there's that feeling of accomplishment when you see nearly eight hours of work go into the oven to bake. That awesome clay sculpt? I totally did that, boo-yah!

....then it's followed by the cringe of "oh god no why my hands". Because I am no longer focused and can now feel said hands.

What, you may ask, was so engrossing that I completely forgot to take breaks for my hands, eat food, etc?

Well.

I'm making a jointed BJD out of clay of Baby Groot. Getting the head and face right took me three hours alone, then the body took nearly five hours. The only pauses I took were short breaks to talk to my sweetheart. But those were also the hardest parts to do. The arms and legs are going to be pretty easy, I think, it's not nearly as "whaaa crap details!" as the head and body. Seriously, you don't realize how many bits Groot is made up of until you're trying to sculpt him. XD

Tomorrow there's going to be a lot of painting to do, that's for sure.

Then photos. Tons of photos. All the photos.

Don't mind me, my brain just ditched me for some coffee while I take a break and bake my finished pieces.

Still alive, just ridiculously busy. I'm getting ready to move, doing art, and busting my ass at a crappy day job to have money to move and do art. Also, y'know, eat. That's an important thing.

Expect some art from me in the next few days, especially after my day out tomorrow. I'm planning on running away for the day- photography and drawing time. I'm thinking of hitting the park and just spending the entire day outside. Lots of liquids, take some healthy lunch with me, and just take the whole day to do art and wind down a bit. Then I can focus on my sorting and packing.

Long story very short, I'm moving to Australia. That's where my beloved is, as well as a lot more opportunity than I've got here in Hicksville, Nowhere. My family is going to miss me, as I'm going to miss them, but I'll keep in contact and come back to visit when I can.

So this summer is about spending time with family and friends before I leave.

Tomorrow, some rest after a really stressful week at my crappy day job. I'm keeping it only because it's paying the bills to help me go. XD
